Crushed Oyster Shell for Chickens – Calcium Supplement for Laying Hens
Help your laying hens get the extra calcium they need with crushed oyster shell for chickens. Producing eggs requires a significant amount of calcium, and laying hens may benefit from access to an additional calcium source alongside a nutritionally complete layer feed.
Crushed oyster shell provides supplemental calcium to support strong eggshells and the calcium needs of laying hens. Simply offer it in a separate feeder and allow your hens to consume it free-choice as needed.
Why offer crushed oyster shell to your flock?
- 🥚 Provides supplemental calcium for laying hens
- 💪 Helps support strong, healthy eggshells
- 🐔 Ideal for adult egg-laying chickens
- 🦆 Can also be offered to laying ducks
- 🍽️ Easy to provide free-choice in a separate feeder
- 🌿 Simple addition to your flock's regular feeding routine
How to feed:
For chickens, we recommend offering crushed oyster shell free-choice in a separate container rather than mixing it directly into their regular feed. This allows laying hens to consume supplemental calcium according to their individual needs.
Crushed oyster shell is a calcium supplement, not a complete feed, and should be offered alongside a balanced poultry diet.
